UA Resources for Expecting and New Parents

Welcoming a new child into your family is an exciting and joyful event, but can also be overwhelming, especially if you’re not aware of the resources that can assist you. The University of Arizona is committed to being a family-friendly employer, and we offer several supports to help you continue your career through this major life transition.

Good News! Effective January 1, 2018, wellness services are covered at no cost under the State of Arizona health plans. This includes breastfeeding support and breast pumps, along with various screenings for women who are or may become pregnant.

Resources and Accommodations: UA offers several supports, including pregnancy accommodations, flexible work arrangements, lactation spaces, and child-care referral and assistance.

Family-Friendly Policies: Learn about Paid Parental Leave and Family and Medical Leave, tenure/promotion clock delays, alternative duties, and protections against pregnancy discrimination.
