Purpose of Classification:

Oversees the operation of Presidential Events and Visitor Services in alignment with the goals and expectations of the Executive Office of the President and Legislative and Community Relations. Key functions include leadership, strategic communication, organization, and project management.

Example of Duties:

  • Schedules presidential and visitor events
  • Directs staff on event parameters, including budgets, expenses, time lines, deadlines, changes, and planning strategies
  • Communicates regularly with senior-level administrators and campus managers to ensure policies and customer service standards are consistently adhered to
  • Establishes and refines procedures for each area in Presidential Events and Visitor Services, including correspondence approval, best practices, and operational efficiencies
  • Organizes Events/Advance/Protocol and Visitor Center to function as a team through effective communication, cross-training, mutual respect, and professionalism
  • Works at high-profile events when needed to ensure successful execution
  • Supervises staff

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with more than 8 years of directly comparable experience; OR master's degree with 5 to 8 years of directly comparable experience
