Purpose of Classification:

Develops and manages administrative operations and leadership program implementation for the Office of Outreach and Multicultural Affairs in the College of Medicine.

Example of Duties:

  • Participates as a senior member of the unit team to develop and execute a strategic vision
  • Collaborates to create unit goals consistent with the strategic vision, translating them into specific objectives for the department
  • Communicates these goals to unit staff
  • Oversees staff and helps them realize these goals
  • Collaborates and integrates unit needs, priorities, and goals with those of the College of Medicine
  • Creates and implements a leadership experience for staff and program participants, which serves as a pillar for individual growth and inclusive excellence
  • Leads the development and implementation of initiatives to foster staff development, program development, community development, and student learning and success
  • Coordinates with a large number of constituents across campus, throughout our region, and nationally to craft strategic partnerships for inclusion of individuals seeking health professions careers
  • Builds and leads a culture driven by knowledge gleaned from ongoing programmatic assessment
  • Provides direct supervision for Outreach and Multicultural Affairs administrative staff, including front desk operations, student workers, and educational and program support staff, as identified
  • Encourages and fosters a culture of inclusive leadership
  • Helps manage all unit policies, plans, and budgets
  • Represents the director to a wide variety of constituencies

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD/professional degree with 5 to 8 years of directly comparable experience
