Purpose of Classification:

Provides primary leadership of the Career and Professional Development Office. Develops and implements strategies to expand job and career opportunities for students and alumni.

Example of Duties:

  • Provides career and professional development programs, career counseling, and tailored career planning to a diverse student body
  • Expands job and career opportunities for students and alumni
  • Assesses trends and changes in the legal marketplace and develops short- and long-term strategies to address them
  • Manages data collection and reporting of employment data and prepares statistical reports
  • Manages online and print content for the Career and Professional Development Office
  • Oversees and expands career fairs and on- and off-campus interviewing programs
  • Develops and expands relationships with legal employers in Arizona and nationally
  • Works collaboratively with the Admissions and Advancement Offices to promote career opportunities for students and alumni, and to assist in furthering the objectives of those offices
  • Plans and manages the budget for the assigned area
  • Supervises staff

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree with 3 to 5 years of directly comparable experience; OR PhD/professional degree with 1 to 3 years of directly comparable experience
