Purpose of Classification:

Evaluates undergraduate international student applications for admission to all colleges.

Example of Duties:

  • Reviews applications and files to make admission and scholarship decisions based on ABOR and UA criteria and guidelines
  • Enters, verifies, and updates prospect, applicant, and student information in databases from paper and online sources
  • Enters, verifies, examines, evaluates, and reviews complex academic records and credentials of applicants
  • Evaluates and reviews foreign college transcripts and applicable test scores (AP, CLEP, etc.) to determine whether courses and credits are transferable to UA
  • Determines, verifies, and updates the categorization of student applications and records
  • Collaborates with colleagues and leadership to monitor, process, and evaluate various specific populations of applicants
  • Performs a broad array of admissions processing, recruitment (counseling/advising), and customer service functions
  • Works with colleagues in documenting office policies, practices, work flows, and projects, including the creation or maintenance of job-related workflow documents, job aids, and business practice and training guides
  • Processes and documents incoming credit card paper payment forms for international applicants
  • Provides walk-in visiting hours for international student recruitment in conjunction with the other members of the International Admissions team
  • Serves as a member of the International Admissions team, providing support to all other members of the team and other representatives or departments
  • May correspond with students about application status, questions, requests, or decisions rendered on applications regarding admissions, honors admission, or merit aid
  • Reviews and processes re-admit applications and makes decisions
  • May track and pre-treat college transcripts, following procedural training and documentation and guidance of functional leads and of supervisors
  • May perform duties involving the imaging and document management system and IDP unit, including pre-treating, scanning, indexing, verifying, and accessing documents and data
  • May be expected to work evenings or weekends during peak seasons

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 1 to 3 years of directly comparable experience
