Purpose of Classification:

Coordinates all J1 waiver, H1B visa, and permanent residency requests in collaboration with the Office of International Faculty and Scholars and the Office of General Counsel; is responsible for promotion and tenure process in the College of Medicine.

Example of Duties:

  • Initiates and generates documents required for immigration processes, such as initial visas, H1B visa transfer and extension petitions, and permanent residency requests
  • Organizes faculty documentation
  • Submits and manages requests for initial academic titles, communicating with the College of Medicine promotion and tenure chairperson and committee members
  • Initiates documentation for and processes new hire requests, Designated Campus Colleague requests, terminations, retirements, promotions, changes in title, and department transfers
  • Places faculty employment advertisements with journal representatives or on journal websites
  • Reviews advertising invoices and confirms appropriate processing for payment
  • Manages all staff advertisements
  • Maintains statistics and database for faculty and staff and creates personnel reports and spreadsheets

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma with 5 to 8 years of directly comparable experience
