FMLA & ADA for Supervisors

When:
Thursday, October 19, 2017 - 9:00am to 12:00pm
Location:
University Services Building, Room 214

The Family Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act are two of the most important pieces of legislation affecting employee use of time for medical, mental health, and disability issues. It is crucial as a supervisor you understand your own - and your employee's - responsibilities regarding these laws and how to have SMART conversations about them. This session provides basic information regarding these regulations, as well as the ways the laws occasionally intersect. Case studies and scenarios are used to provide context and understanding for these legal concepts.

Individuals who supervise at least two classified staff, appointed professionals, faculty, or student workers/graduate associates are eligible for the Supervisor Essential Series courses.
