Purpose of Classification:

Provides leadership and strategic direction to the MBA career management team. Interacts and builds relationships with employers to aid in placing students in internships and full-time positions.

Example of Duties:

  • Provides career development services to MBA students
  • Leads Career Management Department to increase MBA student's success in securing internships, full-time placements, and compensation
  • Serves as primary liaison with employers, focused on developing and maintaining relationships with recruiters and business leaders
  • Cultivates MBA-level job and internship opportunities aligned with students' interests
  • Develops and leads company visits and Career Treks to targeted geographical areas
  • Collaborates with UA Career Services and Eller undergraduate programs to maximize shared employer connections
  • Partners with UA colleagues to identify synergies and opportunities for shared initiatives
  • Works with assistant director to identify connections and referrals for students
  • Leads employer relations initiatives around national MBA career fairs
  • Develops and delivers the career component of first-year orientation and leads the second-year reorientation in partnership with the assistant director
  • Prepares annual report and compiles all data according to MBA Career Services Council standards with assistance from the Career Management team
  • Reviews candidates for admission to rate their employability, in partnership with admissions team
  • Attends campus and external career events to build relationships with target companies and promote the Eller MBA program
  • Identifies and cultivates relationships with employers and alumni for job fairs, networking events, panels, student clubs, and mock interviews
  • Collaborates with admissions team, MBA program managers, and other college staff to plan and execute events
  • Develops corporate e-Newsletter, annual employment report, and other employer-directed communications
  • Supervises staff
  • Plans and manages a budget for assigned area

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with more than 8 years of directly comparable experience; OR master's degree with 5 to 8 years of directly comparable experience
