Purpose of Classification:

Supports the University and its researchers in complying with export control regulations by providing expert review, advice, and training concerning the requirements and obligations for exporting products and deemed exports under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration.

Example of Duties:

  • Assists with developing and implementing export control policies and procedures
  • Supports Technology Control Plan (TCP) development and assists export liaisons with TCP implementation
  • Conducts periodic audits
  • Reviews proposals, awards, non-disclosure agreements, project scopes of work, and other relevant agreements and activities to determine export control applicability
  • Supports the preparation, agency submittal, and monitoring of Technical Assistance Agreements and other forms of complex licensing authorizations and exceptions/exemptions
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge base of ITAR, EAR, and OFAC export control regulations and information, and of best practices for University compliance with these
  • Serves as security point of contact for University security program
  • Promotes an environment of compliance within the University research community

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in export/import compliance and licensing, specializing in State Department licenses, and Technical Assistance Agreements
