Under the Arizona Revised Statutes, Section 23-363, the state reviews minimum wage on an annual basis in order to keep pace with rising costs of living. Effective Jan. 1, 2023, the minimum wage in Arizona will rise to $13.85 per hour.
In response, the University will increase minimum wage for all student workers to $13.85 per hour. For staff, the University has decided to go above the requirement and will increase minimum wage to $14.35 per hour. Both increases become effective Dec. 26, 2022.
We encourage all departments and units to consider how the new minimum wage and related University Pay Structure changes will affect their budgets. Departments/units are responsible for funding the minimum wage increases and related changes.

Note: HR Workforce Systems will make the necessary bring-to-minimum increases on behalf of units. Those increases will be effective with the pay period beginning Jan. 23, 2023. New - Dec. 16, 2022
Note: Graduate assistants/associates who receive supplemental compensation in the summer months must receive at least $13.85 per hour.
