FY 2027 Calendars and Annual Discretionary Pay Change Moratorium

FY 2027 annual moratorium dates and deadlines
Start planning ahead for the annual moratorium (May 25-June 30), which pauses discretionary pay increases, promotions and FTE and compensation changes for all employee types, including student workers.
The moratorium covers all pay change reasons except promotions or transfers that have undergone competitive recruitment.
| April 17 | FY 2026 MSS Exception Requests for Incumbent Reviews (administrators, University Staff and Classified Staff) Effective date must be prior to May 25. Requests received after April 17 will be effective July 1 or later. |
| May 8 | FY 2026 MSS Job Change, PCN changes and Promotions (administrators, University Staff and Classified Staff and employees receiving a promotion that requires a job change) Effective date must be prior to May 25. Requests received after May 8 must be effective July 1 or later. |
| May 20 | All remaining FY 2026 discretionary pay changes and other job changes for faculty, student workers, graduate assistants/associates, postdoctoral scholars, service professionals and academic professionals. This also includes FTE changes, positions life cycles, lateral changes, and employees leaving their current position and moving to a new position. Effective date must be prior to May 25. Requests received after May 20 must be effective July 1 or later. |
