Upcoming UAccess Employee Changes

Jan. 17, 2020

In collaboration with our partners in University Information Technology Services, we are pleased to announce that both the UCAP and Background Check project began their initial phase of implementation in UAccess Employee as of January 16,2020.

Key dates and information

January 17, 2020:

  • Background Check information is required on Job Changes and Student Additional Jobs for security sensitive positions.
  • Background Check approvers will be inserted for security sensitive Position Management requests.
  • New University Staff positions can be initiated.
  • Position Management requests will insert the compensation team on any new University Staff and Administrative positions.
  • Employee/DCC Search and Position Cross-Reference will have new columns and additional links.  The new columns include jobcode details and salary grade information.

January 18, 2020:

  • Workforce Systems will run the UCAP conversion process for all employees who meet the conversion criteria. This process will update position data, job data, and employee title data with a future effective date of January 27, 2020.
  • Employees will be converted to the FLSA status of the position they are mapped to in the career architecture.
  • Job records for benefits-eligible employees will be updated with new paygroups that reflect the University Staff employment category.
  • Class Indicators will be re-named to include University Staff in the description.
  • ERE rates and Object Codes will not be impacted. However, if an employee’s FLSA status did change, the object code will change from salary to wage or vice versa.

January 27, 2020:

  • UCAP conversion job information will become active.
  • The University Directory will continue to display the current title, which is now the working title.
