Continuing Professional Development: Eligible employees receive 16 hours of release time per year to pursue professional development opportunities.
Qualified Tuition Reduction: The University of Arizona is proud to offer Qualified Tuition Reduction to eligible employees, their dependents, and their qualified domestic partners.
Discounts: Your CatCard is your passport to numerous discounts across campus. Also look for local businesses, especially in the Main Gate and central Tucson areas, that offer discounts. Merchants advertising "student discounts" generally will give that discount to anyone who shows a CatCard, including employees.
UA employees also have access to a discounted home and auto insurance program and to discounts with national retailers through Wildcat Marketplace.
Flexible Work Arrangements: Because UA is committed to being a family-friendly employer, we support employees in negotiating flexible work arrangements that enable them to meet both their work and family responsibilities.
Life & Work Connections offers valuable child-care resources, guidance on elder care concerns, and a variety of confidential employee assistance services to support you through life transitions and difficulties.
Paid Parental Leave: Full-benefits-eligible employees may request up to 6 leaves of paid leave on the birth or adoption of a child.
Temporary Alternative Work Arrangements: Eligible employees may request up to 16 weeks during which they work modified duties to help them stay on active UA employment while recovering from illness, caring for a sick family member, bringing a new child into the home, or similar circumstances.

All eligible UA employees are required to participate in a retirement plan, where the employee contribution is matched equally by the employer. Classified staff are required to enroll in the Arizona State Retirement System. Appointed personnel have a choice between Arizona State Retirement System or the Optional Retirement Plan. All employees may choose to participate in supplemental retirement plans to increase their retirement savings.
