HR Now Manages Faculty Job Posting Creation
As of June 30, Human Resources is responsible for creating all faculty job postings in the Talent Applicant Tracking System. HR staff will build postings in close collaboration with college and division hiring departments. This change represents a significant milestone in the university's ongoing HR Modernization initiative.
Why this change matters
Faculty searches carry unique complexities that vary by position type. Embedding dedicated HR professionals in this process allows every posting to be consistently reviewed for quality and alignment with applicable requirements, while giving HR visibility into key recruitment trends. Hiring managers benefit from reduced administrative burden and direct access to experts who can advise on best practices and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
What supervisors can expect
Hiring managers maintain their same expertise and responsibilities in a faculty search. For example, deciding when to open a position, describing their needs for the position, and selecting their final candidates. When ready to hire, colleges and divisions should work with their HR team to initiate the recruitment.
