Subject: Benefits Open Enrollment Starts Next Week

Benefits Open Enrollment for University of Arizona employees starts next week.

During Open Enrollment, you may enroll in, cancel, or change your 2019 plan coverage elections for:

  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Supplemental Life
  • Short-term Disability
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Do I need to take action during Open Enrollment?
You need to take action if you want to participate, or continue participating, in the Healthcare and/or Dependent Care FSA plans in 2019, OR you want to make changes to your other existing benefits. Outside of Open Enrollment, you can only change your elections if you experience a qualifying life event, such as marriage, birth of a child, or loss of other coverage.

What happens if I do nothing?
If you do not make any changes, your current benefit elections will automatically carry over into the 2019 plan year. The only exceptions are your current FSA elections, which do not automatically carry over from year to year.

How long do I have to make changes?
You can make changes to your 2019 benefits from October 22 through November 9, 2018.

For information on the benefits available to you, as well as what’s changing for 2019, please visit the Division of Human Resources Open Enrollment website.1
