Health Benefits
You can choose from multiple health plan options (medical, dental, vision, and flexible spending accounts), including coverage for domestic partners and their families. The University pays an average of 88% of the cost of medical premiums.

NEW! Insurance coverage for free COVID-19 at-home tests
As of Jan. 15, 2022, health insurance plans are required to cover the cost of at-home COVID-19 antigen tests. Every person, including dependents, enrolled in health insurance qualifies for eight free at-home tests each month.
Two ways to receive your free tests:

At the pharmacy: Request your at-home test at any in-network pharmacy. The pharmacist will provide the test to you at no charge.

By reimbursement: You can be reimbursed up to $12 for each FDA-authorized COVID-19 test you purchase (online or at a store) after Jan. 14, 2022. You must submit your receipt when requesting reimbursement, and Blue Cross Blue Shield also requires the barcode from the test package.
To submit your reimbursement request, use the following forms:

Retirement Plans
The University offers multiple plans to help you prepare for a financially secure retirement. You must enroll in one of the mandatory plans, to which the University matches contributions. You also can choose among voluntary supplemental plans.
Educational Benefits (QTR/EAP/DPTP)
You and eligible family members may receive tuition reduction at UArizona, Arizona State University, or Northern Arizona University. Domestic partners and their children can receive tuition reduction at UArizona. This benefit includes undergraduate, graduate, in-person, and online courses.
Life and Disability Insurance
The University provides $15,000 of term life insurance at no cost. You may be able to elect up to $1 million in additional life insurance. You also have short-term disability coverage options. Long-term disability coverage is provided as part of your retirement plan.
Paid and Unpaid Time Off
The University offers several categories of leave, including vacation, sick time, holidays, paid parental leave, University Winter Closure, and many others. Each employee is designated a leave advisor to help navigate the options.

Frequently Asked Questions about Limited Benefits
If you are employed at the University of Arizona within 30 days of separating from benefits-eligible employment at another Arizona public university or an Arizona state agency, your current benefits continue and you cannot make new elections. You may request reinstatement of your sick leave balance.
