9/12 Pay Plan Enrollment and Withdrawal - Due by May 10, 2021
April 12, 2021
The University offers eligible employees on an academic contract the opportunity to enroll or withdraw from the 9/12 Pay Plan Option. The 9/12 Pay Plan Option allows an eligible employee's academic salary to be distributed over the 12-month fiscal year (July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022) instead of the standard nine-month academic year.
Enrollment and withdrawal forms for the 9/12 Pay Plan are to be processed as an attachment to an MSS Job Change Request. Find enrollment and withdrawal forms, plus more detailed information (including MSS instructions) on the Division of Human Resources website.
Enrollment forms are due back to Workforce Systems by Monday, May 10, 2021.
Important Considerations for Employees Considering Withdrawing
- If you receive notice that a 9/12 employee does not intend to return for the 2021/2022 academic year and will not be working over the summer, you must submit a MSS Termination by May 6, 2021 with a termination or retirement effective date of May 24, 2021.
- Employees must withdraw from the plan during the current enrollment period if they will resign, retire, or enter into the final year of a phased retirement agreement, have an FTE reduction, take a leave of absence or go on long-term disability during the 2021/2022 fiscal year. They will need to complete a Return to 9/9 Pay Plan form.
- Return to 9/9 Pay Plan forms are also processed as an attachment to an MSS Job Change Request and are due to Workforce Systems by May 10, 2021.
