Election Season Resources and Policies
With the presidential election approaching, we want to remind the University of Arizona community that Arizona law (Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) §15-1633) and Arizona Board of Regents Policy (ABOR Policy 6-905) does not permit the use of University resources (including personnel or equipment) to influence the outcome of elections or to advocate support for or opposition to pending or proposed legislation. Employees who engage in political activity must do so on their own personal time and must act and speak as private citizens.
Arizona law (A.R.S. §15-1864) also provides guidance on when the Universities may take positions on the public policy controversies of the day.
