PPO Plan
- Predictable costs
- No deductible for in-network care
- Predictable copays
- Broad provider network
- Simple, no provider tiers
If you are currently in the Triple Choice plan, confirm that your providers are covered under the PPO.
High Deductible Health Plan + HSA
- Same premiums, higher deductible
- Paired with a Health Savings Account (HSA)
- University contribution: $30 per pay period for individuals ($60 for family)
- Triple tax advantages with the HSA for qualified expenses

Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
- Health Care FSA Annual Contribution Max: $3,300 with $660 rollover.
- Dependent Care FSA Annual Contribution Max: $7,500.
- Must be re-elected each year.
Note for Dependent Care FSA participants who participate in the Childcare Choice Program: Beginning January 2027, Childcare Choice is moving to a calendar-year schedule. During the transition, there will be a short plan year (July - Dec. 2026). where you may receive $1,000 (final fiscal year period), then $2,000 for January–December 2027; consider how this $1,000 in the second half of 2026 affects your Dependent Care FSA election to avoid overcontributing and forfeiting unused funds.
Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
- New vendor: Inspira replaces Optum. Account transfers in December.
- University continues $30/pay period contribution for individuals ($60 for family)

Supplemental Life Insurance - Dependent Coverage
U of A
- Elections for spouse/partner and children can now be made separately for more flexibility.
- Unum replaces The Hartford.
- Coverage available in increments of $5,000 up to $50,000 for your spouse/partner and children
ADOA
- Spouse/child coverage: Available in increments of $2,000, $4,000, $6,000, $10,000, $12,000, $15,000, and $50,000.
- The Hartford replaced Securian.
Life Supplemental Life Insurance
U of A
- Unum replaces The Hartford.
- Supplemental life premiums are decreasing.
ADOA
- The Hartford will replace Securian Life.
- Supplemental life premiums are decreasing.
Short-Term Disability
U of A
- Premiums are decreasing (Unum).
ADOA Plans
- In 2026, coverage will be offered through The Hartford, replacing MetLife.
- Premiums are decreasing.
Waiting period for illness/pregnancy reduced to 15 days from 31 for new hires. No change to the waiting period for injury (first day).
Long-Term Disability
ADOA
- The Hartford replaces MetLife.
